Get Active in Easter Half Term (2012) - Holiday Sports Camp
Handsworth Forum run a very successful school holiday sports and activity camp which we call GET ACTIVE. Together with partners from Activity Sheffield and Handsworth Grange Sports Centre we offer a wide variety of activities for children aged 8-16yrs. Our most popular activities include Zorb, rock climbing, trampolining, archery, football, gymnastics, dodgeball and circus skills. We also offer creative crafts, badminton, basketball, streetdance, rounders, mini-gym sessions and much more. When funding allows, we also organise trips to popular destinations such as Ice Sheffield. GET ACTIVE is advertised through the network of local schools and through a direct mailing to children who have attended previously. It runs in every half term and summer holiday.
The next Get Active will run on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th June at Handsworth Grange Sports Centre 10.30-2.00pm.
Support for Overweight Children
There is a support session available each week for overweight children and their families every Wednesday 4.30pm-6.30pm at Handsworth Fire Training Centre. Click here to open a pdf document which explains more about these sessions and how to join them.

5 Aside Football
Open access football sessions every Monday and Friday evenings at Handsworth Grange Sports Centre. The sessions are open to all young people aged 10 - 16 years. Come down with your friends and compete to be crowned local champions then get a chance to compete again in our citywide tournaments.

Sports Club for 8-11yrs
This club is also run by Activity Sheffield and is part of an exciting network that consists of 16 citywide sports clubs that offer young people access to quality sports coaching and competition in their local community. Each term will consist of weekly sessions and a different focus sports such as basketball, sports hall athletics, rugby, badminton and many others. After each focus sport there will be a citywide competition where all the 16 citywide clubs will come together and compete against each other. The 'Sport In The Community' clubs aim to offer young people fun, high quality sports coaching sessions that can build confidence, skill levels and aspirations to further their involvement in sport.

Handsworth Children’s Centre (0-5 Years)

Based at Athelstan Primary School, Children’s Centres are a new way of supporting families with children under 5. The types of activities you may find in your Children’s Centre include baby and toddler activities, speech and language sessions, child development courses, holiday fun club, play and stay sessions and drop-in sessions by midwives and health visitors. All Children's Centres are open from 8am to 6pm, 48 weeks per year.
